Domain Names

Domain names are essentially the address to your website. Short and easy to remember is always the best.

You can have as many domain names as you want however for Googles sake I highly recommend you only have one primary domain name per website and then have the rest pointing to it.

There are countless websites where you can register domain names. Some of the most common New Zealand providers are Free Parking, Go Daddy, 1st Domains and Crazy Domains.

Want to see if a domain name is available?

You can either go to any of the domain name providers websites and check there, or you can email me the names you would like to check and I will do it for you (no charge). I am also happy to give you my thoughts around your domain name ideas before you go ahead and purchase them (again, no charge).

Your options

I always offer these two options when it comes to your domain names:

This means, when ever it needs renewing you will receive the reminder email and you take care it directly with that provider. To point it to a website I create for you I would simply ask you to change a setting or two on your domain (or I can do it through your logins).[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type="font_icon" icon="icon-ok" color="Accent-Color"]I MANAGE I have a re-seller account under one of New Zealand's leading domain name providers where I will register it on your behalf. You will be the owner and I will be the technical contact. I do not have a mark up on this fee. I only on-charge their costs.  The benefit of myself managing it on your behalf is that I have direct access to change any settings I need to at any stage, without needing to pester you or ask for your logins.[/text-with-icon][divider line_type="No Line" custom_height="40"]

Domain name costs

My costs for most domain names are $24.73 per year.
This is subject to my reseller account. I simply on-charge their rate, so prices may vary slightly. More rare or newer domain names can be significantly more.

Moving your domain names

You can move your domain name to and from any providers reasonably easy. Most domain names can be done within minutes but with .com’s there is a process involved that can mean it takes a few days to do. To move between providers you simple ask the current manager to generate the UDAI or EPP code. This will be email to you. You then give that code to your new provider and they will be able to take care of the rest.
